Introducing the New World of Work podcast

The working world is a lot different these days.

It doesn’t take an HR expert to know that the working world is a lot different these days. Remote work is the norm, many offices have adopted hybrid work arrangements, and it’s not uncommon to have colleagues across borders and time zones—many of whom you may have never even met in real life.

As with any major cultural shift, there’s been a lot of questions about the new working world. What are the best ways to support a global team? Should an employee’s location impact their salary? How do you give feedback in a remote work environment?

To answer all of these questions (and more), we’re excited to share the launch of our podcast, New World of Work

On New World of Work, we’ll hear from some of the world’s best and brightest People and Culture experts about the cutting-edge topics that HR professionals are most interested in today—all through a global lens.

Hosted by Oyster’s own Head of Remote, Rhys Black, each episode will dig into the topics we’re all eager to explore these days: the remote work revolution, hybrid workspaces, mental health and wellbeing, and managing a team effectively no matter where you and your colleagues are on the map.

Our first episode features Leia Rollag, the Head of People at Wildbit. Wildbit is a remote-first company, and Leia spearheaded the company’s move to location-agnostic pay—a strategy that ensures all employees will be compensated based on the quality of their work, not on where they live. In the episode, Leia shares what it was like joining a company who is putting their money where their mouth is and actioning the kind of change that truly puts people first.

At Oyster, people are at the heart of everything we do. This podcast gives us the opportunity to dive into meaningful conversations with the experts who are dictating the strategies to shape our new working world. We’d love for you to join us on our journey to learn more about their stories, and how they’re enabling their global teams to succeed.
