How to calculate paychecks 

Once you’ve determined a base pay, calculating paychecks is straightforward. 

First, define the number of pay periods in a year on your payroll calendar. For example, you may choose biweekly (26 pay periods), twice a month (24 pay periods), or monthly (12 pay periods). 

Then, divide the annual base salary by the number of pay periods. For example, if your employee earns $80,000 and is paid twice a month, divide their annual base salary by 24, which comes out to $3,333.
