Overview on remote work regulations in Hungary

Employees in Hungary are not entitled to request remote working or flexible hours. Teleworking and flexible working arrangements require an agreement and are thus based on the employer's decision, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. At their discretion, employers may also choose to

reimburse employees’ costs incurred in connection with the telework and pay a tax-free lump sum stipend, up to an amount equaling 10% of the monthly minimum wage until the end of the state of emergency.
