FAQs

What is a PEO and how does it work?

A professional employer organization (PEO) partners with employers in a co-employment model to handle payroll, benefits, and HR administration. You retain control over daily operations while the PEO manages compliance and administrative tasks.

How is PEO different from EOR?

PEO requires you to have an established U.S. entity and operates through co-employment, while an EOR doesn't require any entity setup and Oyster becomes the full legal employer.

How does liability work in the co-employment model?

In the PEO model, both your company and the PEO share liability for employment-related matters, while you maintain full control over your business operations, employee tasks, and performance management.

Can I use PEO alongside other Oyster services?

Yes, Oyster allows you to manage your entire global workforce from one platform. You can use Oyster for EOR, PEO, global payroll, and global contractors.

How is pricing calculated for PEO?

The PEO fee is $89 and the platform fee is $25 per employee per month covering co-employment, payroll, benefits, and HR support. A $500 implementation fee is charged once for set up.
