What’s an Employer of Record (EOR)?
An Employer of Record (EOR) is a third-party entity that handles the employment of an individual on behalf of another company.
Oyster’s global employment platform provides EOR services so companies can work with global talent like you. As an EOR, Oyster becomes the legal employer of their Team Members and is responsible for:
- Onboarding
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Terminations
In countries where Oyster doesn’t have a direct entity, we use trusted EOR vendors and they become the legal employer.
How’s my salary paid?
Your net salary is paid to your bank account in your local currency by Oyster or the local EOR or Payroll partner. Your net salary amount is the monthly gross salary minus the required employee taxes, insurance, and social security costs. Your employer covers the total cost of your salary each month.
Who will my employment contract be with?
Your employment contract will be with your legal employer, which will be Oyster or a trusted, local EOR vendor.
