What is working from home?
Working from home
Working from home (WFH) is a common modern working practice where workers carry out their job from their home. This can be either permanently or on certain days as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
What’s the difference between working from home and remote working?
The terms “working remotely” and “working from home” are often used interchangeably, but there are some important differences. “Working from home” suggests a temporary state of affairs where workers are apart from the office, whereas “remote work” suggests a more permanent arrangement.
“Working from home” also implies the obvious—that the worker is at home—whereas with “remote work” a worker could be at home, in a coworking space, in a cafe, travelling, on a train, or in another country.
