What is global employment?

Global employment, or international employment, is the ability to employ, pay, and manage talent based in other countries. For example, if your business primarily operates in Canada, a global employment platform would enable your teams to hire and pay contractors and full-time Team Members located in other parts of the world.

What are the terms and conditions of this offer?

  1. Offer is valid until October 31, 2024 and is subject to the terms set out in the applicable Service Agreement
  2. This offer is available to new customers for new hire requests only
  3. New customers must submit new hire requests during the promotional period, and the new hire's start date must occur within 90 days of the submission.
  4. There are no restrictions on the number of hires that can be submitted under this offer so long as the hire begins their engagement within 90 days from submission.
  5. Customers must comply with all terms and conditions incorporated in the Service Agreement. Oyster may revoke, void, or rescind the discount in the event of a breach of any terms.

What services does the Oyster fee include?

The Oyster subscription fee is charged per Team Member (or contractor) on a monthly basis. It includes all the services provided to you through the Oyster platform including onboarding your Team Members, global payroll administration, and ongoing management and compliance for your global team.

Are there additional charges such as setup or cancellation fees?

No, Oyster does not charge any setup or cancellation fees. However, Oyster requires a refundable security deposit to initiate the engagement.

Do you offer discounts at a certain volume of hiring?

Yes, we do. Once the number of full-time Team Members you engage through Oyster exceeds five, you’ll be eligible for Oyster Scale. You will be able to pre-purchase a number of seats at a reduced rate. 

How does Oyster handle currency conversions?

Oyster charges a fee for currency conversions but the fee applies only if you pay us in a currency different from the contract currency. Click here to learn more.
